A JOINT exhibition bringing a range of pieces produced by two aspiring artists opens at the Artrix in Bromsgrove today.
Ada Gaden and Frances Lloyd will take up the gallery space at the School Drive venue with their work, produced as part of a BA degree course at Solihull College.
Frances' work, entitled Abstract Environments, will occupy the first floor with a series of collages referring to our "throw away" society and the issue of pollution in our world today.
She said: "I work intuitively with organic and non-organic materials to create two dimensional relief images that allude to environmental damage."
Most of the work was produced for an HND in Fine Art at NEW College, which she completed in June, and she now studies a degree course at Solihull College, which she is set to complete in June 2007.
Fellow degree student Ada Gaden, who lives in Alcester, will present her work on the group floor and first floor corridor galleries.
Hoofbeats, produced for an HNC in Fine Arts at NEW College, portrays the physical power and presence of horses, combining textures, line, colour and angles, to convey power and movement.
She said: "I have always been involved with horses, including some years in the racing town of Lambourn where everyone lives and breathes racing.
"Riding out and being part of a steeple-chasing yard was where I became aware of the courage and fitness required to control these powerful racing-fit horses, the companionship shared and the exhilaration and excitement of the riding."
The exhibition runs from today until December 23.
