FOUNDATION degree students from NEW College's theatre and the community course are taking to the stage with their special play
Parkside Middle School pupils were due to be the first to see the play yesterday which raises awareness of excessive drinking and its consequences.
Thirteen and fourteen year olds in 18 schools in and around Bromsgrove and Redditch will see the play before Christmas
Realistic binge drinking scenarios will be acted out such as drinking in the park or at house parties.
The foundation degree in theatre and the community aims to give students the skills to set up their own theatre company. They are performing the play, which they scripted, are managing the tour and preparing education packs to be used in classes after the performance.
Hereford and Worcester Advisory Service on Alcohol has provided information and statistics about alcohol misuse and crime in Bromsgrove and Redditch. Funding for the project was obtained from the local education authority and Worcestershire Substance Misuse Action Team.
