PREPARING farmers and landowners for the new world of environmentally-friendly farming comes under the spotlight at a seminar at Pershore College tonight.

Entitled Are You Ready For a Green Future?, the briefing is designed to cover all the new regulatory issues facing farmers over the next six months as a result of the Single Payment Scheme and a raft of new agricultural regulations.

"Capturing all the changes, advising on the requirements and problem-solving is the chief purpose of the briefing," said Enterprise Works training co-ordinator Max Prestwood, who has been working with the advisory organisations and main agencies, including the Country Land and Business Association the National Farmers' Union, rural hubs, the and Environment Agency and Defra to produce the briefing.

To help with the health check, every farm represented will receive a complimentary green file, a collection of practical solutions and a ready-made recording system produced to meet the requirements of cross-compliance, environmental changes and new waste regulations.
