But what does yours say about you? This is the question posed to patients every day at Roy Morris' Centre for Excellence in Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry.
With more than 25 years' experience, Roy has all the expertise to transform smiles and change lives. A registered mentor for the world's largest implant company, Nobel Biocare, Roy has 12 years' experience in solving every type of problem involving missing teeth and loose uncomfortable dentures. Regularly involved in postgraduate education, he has trained extensively at home and abroad in Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Belgium and has been invited to New York University and Budapest in the near future.
Smile creation starts with smile design, involving detailed analysis of the relationship of the teeth and gums to each other and the facial aesthetic. Healthy gums are essential to the long term appearance and survival of the smile, so a full survey is carried out to formulate an initial treatment and a lifetime care programme. This is the responsibility of the highly specialised team of dental hygienists.
Roy is experienced in the techniques of guided bone and tissue regeneration and plastic micro surgery essential to creating the ideal, healthy gum architecture essential to complement the perfect smile. Most patients like to create a whiter, brighter smile and a range of techniques are offered, including power bleaching.
When cosmetic dentistry is needed, the emphasis is on natural beauty. All the leading edge techniques are available, including multi-layered fillings to create the natural vitality and porcelain laminate veneers. Leading edge dentistry uses computer-designed Procera crowns manufactured in Sweden. These all-ceramic restorations can be indistinguishable from natural teeth and eliminate the dark margins so often seen with metal-ceramic crowns. The Centre is mercury-free and Roy has trained at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital.
The Centre has two dental surgeons trained and licensed to use the American Invisalign system. This technique again uses computerised technology to create invisible aligners, straightening teeth without wires and braces.
The Centre is one of the first in Britain to be able to offer the exciting new concept of 'teeth in an hour.' Using Swedish computerised technology, a full bridge is prepared prior to the appointment. Further computer-guided technology is used to place the implants and fit the bridge, allowing the patient to leave the surgery with natural looking and functioning teeth. The wonderful feature is that no extensive surgery is involved and the after-effects are very minimal.
To complement the final result, an experienced dental surgeon can provide facial rejuvenation and wrinkle removal.
"This is the most exciting time ever in dentistry," says Roy. "My practice is a leading edge centre for excellence and we will continue to pursue our mission to ensure that your smile says it all!"
