GOOD LUNCH CLUB: The November event was held in the parlour of the Lifford Hall.
There was a full attendance of patrons and the event raised £145.
The committee had announced that the proceeds were to be given to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. This announcement was welcomed by Mrs Dorothy Twiddle, MBE, who pointed out that she was a member of the Legion.
GARDEN CLUB: In the October meeting, the AGM took place. The chairman presented her report and stated that she would stand down after the end of the year.
After the secretary and the treasurer had submitted their reports, the officers answered a number of questions raised by members of the club.
Three members of the club presented their own contributions and answered questions.
The next meeting will be on Monday, November 28 at the usual time and venue. This will be a Christmas quiz to be followed by a social evening.
