A LEGENDARY DJ who played the first and last ever records at a popular northern soul venue will be spinning the discs in Kidderminster on Saturday.
Russ Winstanley was a regular DJ at Wigan Casino, which was one of the many popular northern soul clubs during the 1970s and early 1980s.
He played the first record at the first all-night session at the club and then spun the final one when the venue closed in the early 80s.
Russ will be appearing at Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre with DJs, Basil, Steve Russell and Mr Tee from 8pm until late.
He is about to embark on a tour supporting indie band, Ocean Colour Scene, and in December he will be working in the studio with Paul Weller and American soul star, Dean Parrish.
Tickets are available from Mr Tee Records, 65 Blackwell Street on 01562 515291. They can also be bought on the door.
