Hereford Cathedral holds the last of its organ gala concerts - Phantom of the Opera improvised by David Briggs, hosts the regional film premiere of Pride and Prejudice and launches its collaboration with John Mckellar Designer Jewellery, Hereford, where jewellery is cleaned and inspected in return for a donation to the trust.

1. Chairman of the organ committee, Kevin Mason, and vice-chairman of the Friends of Hereford Cathedral, Anthony Evans.

2. Lindsay Lafford, aged 92, former chorister and article pupil to former organist Sir Percy Hull and the only person to have played all three versions of the organ console, with three former assistant organists: Geraint Bowen, now organist and director of music, David Briggs and Peter Dyke, current assistant organist.

3. Margaret and Ian Higton, sponsors (along with the Herefordshire Organists Society) of the gala concert.

4. Terry Court, chairman of the Perpetual Trust, and John Mckellar, at the launch of the jewellery cleaning and checking offer in aid of the trust.

5. Mrs Jane Smith, the wife of the new headmaster of the Cathedral School, with Mrs Elizabeth Evans.

6. At the regional film premiere of Pride and Prejudice, Terry Court, and Trevor Hewett from Trevor Hewett Architects (sponsors of the evening).
