I'M twenty-six and a Grumpy Old Woman. I know this because Jenny Eclair, Linda Robson and Dillie Keane touched that funny bone of recognition - and not just with me- resulting in a standing ovation from the largely female audience.
Indeed, I was a little nervous for the lone man in row G - had he taken a wrong turn at the Playhouse? But, thankfully, this was not a show about bloke-bashing. More about the general frustrations, inconveniences and bewilderment of modern life faced by the HRT generation. And others. Grumpiness is a state of mind. One that was delivered with flair, wit and in fairness, a few lumps and bumps, cellulite aside. This, however, made it all the more honest. The three women's performances were excellent, and a highly satisfying group 'tut' for all (to get the grumpy juices flowing) meant that, oddly, we left a little less grumpy and with smiles on our faces.
