THE spirit of medieval street theatre is alive and well and living in Gloucestershire.
The Fabulous Old Spot Theatre Company unveiled their second locally-based show in the Everyman's Other Space on Tuesday and the only thing missing was an audience. A sparse few of us had a great time as the cast of four sang, acted and danced their hearts out in this pantomimic romp which truly deserves the tag of family entertainment.
With loads of local references and a comic plot involving pirate ghosts, a love triangle and an insurance fraud, the four show off their amazing array of talents.
Special praise must go to Murray Andrews, who dashes like a dervish through the second act, changing character and costume at the drop of a pirate's hat.
The show runs at the Everyman until Saturday. Box office: 01242 572573.
