I HAVE read your article regarding the Regal Cinema and after reading about different proposed plans, which always seem to be rejected, think it is about time Evesham had a cinema of its own, whether by renovation or new building. This would save local residents having to travel to Worcester, Cheltenham or Stratford to see a film of their choice.
As an example, on Wednesday evening last, my daughter and I decided to see the new Wallace and Gromit film in Worcester. We travelled 16 miles and after queuing for some time were told there were no more seats available, so had to travel 16 miles back. Had there been a cinema in Evesham, time and petrol would have been saved.
Also it would be nice for children to have a Saturday morning club, and also matinee performances during school holidays.
