MUSICAL twins The Taberness Brothers bring their singalong hits to Malvern Youth Centre tomorrow (Sat-urday) during at a National Youth Work Week concert.

Adam and Tim Hawker, of Clarence Road, cover tunes from the 60s to the present day and were picked for the show as part of the First Bass Malvern Music Project.

They play alongside four other county youth bands at tomorrow's gig.

"The other groups play stuff people might not know but people know the songs we do," said Tim, whose favourite song is Mustang Sally.

"Heavy metal can be a load of gobbledegook. We like to do singalong stuff," said Adam who likes playing REM's Losing My Religion on his mandolin.

The boys honed their talents at the weekend with three other bands at a residential course in Hanley Swan. They worked with professional musicians to record their own track and were separated to create fusion tracks with other musicians.

In the band, Adam is the main vocalist and plays electric guitar and mandolin, while Tim is on keyboards and backing vocals.

Taberness comes from a house owned by grandmother Diana and late grandfather Eric, who left them money to buy professional musical equipment.

The 14-year-olds have two agents and have performed at West Malvern Social Club. Malvern singer-songwriter Clive John was a major inspiration. Adam said he started taking music seriously after seeing Clive perform.

Tomorrow's concert is for 13 to 19-year-olds. Doors open at 1pm, music starts at 2pm. Entry is 50p.
