GARDEN CLUB: At the September meeting John Keylock, chairman of the show committee, reported on the success of the show. The exhibitors in the show had increased by 30 and there were more garden club member entries.
There was a profit of £113 from the plant and tomato stall.
The speaker for the evening was David Everitt on Gardens and Their History. Slides were shown of some of the designs, many of which are seen in this area at National Trust properties.
The next meeting is to be held on Monday, October 31 at the usual time and venue. This is the annual general meeting followed by the members' evening.
The competition will be a branch of a shrub and berries, maximum 18 inches.
