The Three Choirs Festival returns to Hereford in August 2006, with an exciting programme of music.
The festival chorus comprises choirs drawn from Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford, and local adult singers are encouraged to audition.
Geraint Bowen, festival conductor, said: "The festival offers a stimulating mix of music across the centuries, celebrating major anniversaries of four very different composers and, as always, the performance of a new work by a contemporary composer. In 2006, we are delighted to present the UK premiere of James MacMillan's Sun Dogs, conducted by the composer."
He added: "The festival also offers local choral singers the rare chance to sing with a world-renowned orchestra and it is with great pleasure that we welcome the Philharmonia Orchestra to Hereford for the first time, as orchestra-in-residence.
"We are also delighted Richard Hickox will be guest conductor for two of the cathedral concerts."
Prospective chorus members are invited to call Dora Parry on 01432 269454 to arrange an audition. The closing date for applications is Tuesday.
