FOUR Wyre Forest performers will be taking to the spotlight to entertain guests at business chief, Sir Digby Jones's, 50th birthday party.

Russell Painter, Beth Dunn, Lauren Tristram and accompanist, Sara Weaver, have been invited to perform at Blenheim Palace, tomorrow evening.

As well as the director general of the CBI, they will sing in front of personalities including Sir David Frost, David Mellor, Jackie Stewart and Radio 4's John Humphreys during a champagne reception.

The singers will perform songs including Rhythm of Life and Gilbert and Sullivan's Three Little Maids From School, as well as numerous solos and duets, accompanied by Sara on piano.

Russell will perform Time to Say Goodbye with Beth and Younger Than Springtime for his solo.

Beth, who is studying music at Bretton Hall in Leeds, said: "Digby asked us as a result of three charity concerts he was compere for and he's a good friend of my mum and dad."

The 20-year-old added: "It should be brilliant. Digby has asked me to sing one of his favourite songs - Wind Beneath My Wings.

"I'm really looking forward to it because I think it is such a good opportunity for all of us because of the calibre of people who are going to be there."

Professional singer, Anne Jones, who studied at the Royal Academy of Music, will also be performing and will sing Barcarolle with Beth.

Lauren, 18, who is a student at Bewdley High School and will sing Someone to Watch Over Me by Gershwin, said: "I feel very privileged to be invited to such a prestigious event. I hope we do ourselves and Digby justice."
