I WONDER if anyone knows why it is that whereas most of the local authorities nearby collect organic waste (including garden clippings) from outside houses, Wychavon does not. Will Wychavon join the other local authorities and introduce a fortnightly organic waste collection?

l Sharon Casswell, Wychavon District Council's client services manager, said: "Along with other local authorities in Worcestershire we are trying to persuade people to buy composters at a very cheap price and we have the highest take-up rate in the county. We will still remove garden waste but there is a charge of £1.60 a bag."
