Film review - Four Brothers at the UGC Cinema, Great Park, Rubery
FROM the mean streets of Detroit, to the tangled paths of inner family relations, a family struggle that director John Singleton (Boyz N the Hood, 2 fast 2 furious) is currently portraying in his latest instalment of gang-ties (C15).
Pre-assumptions of this film are that we are in for another audience participation car chase around the cinematic screen but surprisingly I was taken by the underlining message delivered by Bobby Mercer (Mark Wahlberg) and his co-stars within their tormented neighbourhood.
This is a film that although at parts resembles a more subtle version of Training day and Narc, it nether the less provides you with a true storyline, one whose message is family peace first, everything else will follow, nicely linked up with some thrilling tactical action sequences and rough edge cinematic gunfire.
