IT'S a way off now from Year of the Cat but it could be the year of Al Stewart.
The 'rock troubadour' is celebrating his 60th birthday this year and is on tour with music from what he calls his finest body of work to date - A Beach Full of Shells.
He started out in folk clubs and colleges with the likes of The Incredible String Band, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and Roy Harper until he hit the big time with Year of the Cat, which was his first platinum album in the US. He had two top 20 hits - with the title song On The Border - and then his next album Time Passages also recorded platinum sales.
His 60th year is being celebrated with a retrospective box set of his work, a good selection of which will be ringing round the rafters of Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Saturday.
The show starts at 8pm. Call the box office for tickets on 01905 611427.
