A WALK-in structure inspired by fungus which visitors can smell and touch forms the heart of a new exhibition celebrating Hereford-shire Festival of Fungus.
Portal, a multi-sensory interactive sculpture made entirely of recycled materials, is the work of Nottingham artist Jan Niedojadlo and it has gone on display at Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, Broad Street, Hereford.
As part of the exhibition, which runs until October 29, Hereford artist Jason Hodges is staging a photographic display of his latest work.
Jason, a former student at both Haywood School and Hereford-shire College of Art and Design, has created a series of fungi photographs specifically for this exhibition.
Fungus from the Royal Botanic Gardens collection, which was recently featured on BBC series A Year at Kew, is also on display.
Linked to Herefordshire Festival of Fungus will be a series of one-day workshops at the museum during half-term.
Heritage centres across the county will stage Sporing Drawing, a series of hands-on drawing workshops in Bromyard, Ledbury and Ross, which are being run in conjunction with the Campaign for Drawing and The Big Draw, national events aimed at promoting drawing.
Admission to Hereford Museum and Art Gallery is free and the museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-5pm. It's closed on Sundays and Mondays.
