The Curious Savage by John Patrick opens at The Phoenix Theatre, Ross-on-Wye tomorrow (Friday).
The savage in question is, in fact, Ethel Savage who has been left 10 million pounds by her late husband.
Her grown-up stepchildren have her committed to a sanatorium 'to bring her to her senses' and relieve her of her inheritance...but the nutty inmates of the sanatorium add a whole new dimension to the battle that ensues.
The original star of the show on Broadway was the legendary Lillian Gish, who dates back to the silent screen.
The play is directed by David Edwards who has a background in the professional theatre and the show runs from October 14-22 at 7.30pm.
Call to book on 01989 564570 (10.30-12.30) and the Market House Heritage Centre (01432 260675) from 10.30-4.30.
