A FEAST of entertainment will be screened for movie fans during Wyre Forest Film Club's autumn season.

The next film to be shown will be Central Station, directed by Walter Salles, which tells the story of an old woman who reluctantly takes a young boy under her wing and helps him search for his biological father. This film will be shown on Tuesday.

It will be followed by New Zealand based film, Whale Rider, on October 25, which is about a young Maori girl who tries to persuade her grandfather she should become a leader in the absence of a male heir.

Lilya 4 - Ever, directed by Lucas Moodysson, will be screened on November 1 and Fargo, starring Francis MacDormand, Steve Buscemi and William H Macey, will be shown on November 8.

Fargo tells the story of a small-town businessman who hires two incompetent criminals to kidnap his wife in the hope that her wealthy father will pay a huge ransom.

The featured film on November 15 will be The Girl on the Bridge, starring Vanessa Paradis and Daniel Auteuill.

It is about a suicidal girl who decides there might be a more interesting way to die than jumping off a bridge - by becoming a knife thrower's human target.

In Italian for Beginners, which will be shown on November 22, a group of lonely people in early middle age living in a small Danish town, find love and happiness in an elementary Italian language class at the local leisure centre.

The final film of the autumn season will be All or Nothing, directed by Mike Leigh on November 29.
