THERE'S an opportunity to take a peek behind the curtains of the Palace Theatre over the next four weeks.

Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesely Abbey Visitor Centre opens a new exhibition - 'Palace Pandemonium' - and it will be at the mill until November 16, and will not only reveal some intriguing details about the Redditch theatre's chequered history but will also reveal some of the future plans.

The Palace first opened its doors in 1913 and over the years some top theatrical namess who have appeared there - a young Julie Andrews has walked the boards, as well as Pam Ayres and Felicity Kendal.

The exhibition documents all the different incarnations the building has seen; from the regal neo-classical theatre to the bingo hall and from fan dancers to pantomime.
