THEATRE-GOERS could find Mr Right or a happy-ever-after fairytale ending when they visit a Pershore arts centre this month.

Beyond Midnight, which was highlighted as one of the 50 unmissable events at this year's Edinburgh Festival, will be staged at the Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore on Monday, October 10.

The production is a dark and unexpected grown-up twist on the Cinderella story, telling the tale of Cinderella's daughter, and exploring what lies beyond happily ever after. "Cinderella is dead and the law decrees that her widowed husband must remarry," explained a spokeswoman for the show. "He still has the glass slipper - could it work for him again?"

The production will combine masks and puppets with music, humour and a script by the highly acclaimed playwright, Diane Samuels.

A spokeswoman for Trestle, the company performing the play, said: "Our artistic director revisited the questions of why and how masks can enhance a piece of theatrical story telling.

"Cinderella, like most fairy tales, is not a straightforward story and it's 'happily ever after' can leave a saccharine taste: through Beyond Midnight we hope to pursue a new angle on this frequently wrought tale."

Then on Saturday, October 15, Number 8 Community Arts Centre will be going back in time to 1910 to bring audiences the Edwardian tale of The Mysterious Mr Love.

"Part romance, part psychological thriller, The Mysterious Mr Love will keep you guessing throughout," said a spokeswoman.
