A MUSICAL blast from the past will be coming to Worcester this weekend as one half of Anglo-Canadian duo Big Bam Boo comes to the city.
Simon Scardanelli enjoyed success in the late 80s with the group, scoring a top 20 radio hit in the US in March 1989, after which the band relocated to New York.
Following the demise of the band, Scardanelli remained in the Big Apple, composing installation works for art events and experimental films, as well as performing at acoustic venues along the East Coast.
The singer released the dark Eye Camera in 1994, before relocating to London the following year and then to Brighton, where he took a degree in 20th Century music.
He has now returned to the live music scene this year, also releasing his first album - Hobohemia - in more than 10 years.
The performer's songs combine gritty realism with soaring melodies and quirky English eccentricity and fans will be able to get a taste of what he is all about when he plays the city's Marr's Bar on Sunday.
