GARDENING CLUB: Evesham Gardening Club members are meeting next Tuesday at 7.30pm in Wallace House. The speaker will be Mrs Margaret Sheward who will talk about Plant Hunting in Mountains and Valleys. The competition this month is for a vase of autumn flowers. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. Entrance costs £1 and all are welcome.
EX-SERVICE ASSOCIATIONS: On Sunday, September 11, 40 Royal British Legion standards from the Worcester County, 18 RAFA from a wider area, and the RAFA and Burma Star from Evesham attended a service, at RAF Gosford, of thanksgiving and commemoration of The Battle of Britain. A well-organised parade and service with music by the central band of the Royal Air Force.
CIVIL SERVICE RETIREMENT FELLOWSHIP: Twenty-two members met for the September meeting. Members discussed England's winning of the Ashes, the weather, holidays and health.
A member who joined the Evesham group from Bedford ten years ago is shortly leaving the area for the glens of Scotland. Her expertise on things committee will be missed and good wishes for the future were given. Following the group meeting a farewell luncheon was held at the Evesham Hotel.
