JAZZ fans in Pershore are set to welcome back the Dutch Lewis Broadband, who proved a big draw during the town's recent jazz festival.

The band will be performing at the Plough Inn in the High Street - and the event is being recorded for their third CD.

Their repertoire of 1,000 songs, all hand-written by Dutch, take audiences from 1917 to the present day.

The music of the American rhythm and blues greats such as Louis Jordan and Louis Prima is recreated by Dutch while wife Jayne brings the songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Peggy Lee to life.

The couple, who live in Pershore, also double as sax and clarinet players and are joined by guitar, bass and drums.

Later this year Yardley-born Dutch will celebrate 50 years of professional music.

"We don't play many public events, though," he said. "Most of our work is for corporate functions and private parties."

However, the band did two nights at the Plough during the festival to huge acclaim with hundreds demanding a repeat performance.

The performance on Saturday at 7.30pm is free and parking is available at the nearby Civic Centre in Station Road.
