THEY may have made a name for themselves covering classic rock songs by the likes of AC/DC, Motorhead and Queen, but Hayseed Dixie are anything but your bog standard tribute band - as their two-hour set proved.
As well as performing their unusual takes on the likes of Fat Bottom Girls, Whole Lotta Rosie and Ace of Spades, the band, which coined the phrase "Rockgrass" to describe their music, showed they could also write and perform their own songs with gusto.
The hillbilly band of acoustic musicians from Deer Lick Holler in the USA - singer, fiddler and guitarist Barley Scotch and brothers Dale Reno on mandolin and Don Wayne Reno on banjo - proved they were worth the euphoria they have received in Britain.
While Scotch entertained the crowd with amusing anecdotes and hilarious banter, one could only look in awe at the speed of the Reno brothers on the strings.
All in all, the show was the true meaning of entertainment.
