CHIPPING Norton Town Hall is the main venue for Folk All Around's fourth Day of Folk on Saturday.

Young and vibrant musicians of the National Youth Folklore Troupe of England will be holding regional membership auditions and a workshop in playing traditional music and for morris dancing at 9.30 am in the Town Hall, Market Place.

The Town Hall is also the venue for a concert performance in the afternoon which also features North Country entertainer Keith Donnelly.

Free admission is available to the workshop, and to all other workshops, to young people of the troupe's qualifying age of 10-18 years, thanks to financial support from West Oxfordshire District Council, Chipping Norton Heritage and Traditional Music Club, Chipping Norton's Fox Hotel, local businesses and Chipping Norton Town Council.

The evening concert stars young duo Rosie Doonan and Ben Murray, offspring of the world famous Doonan Family Band. MC is Keith Donnelly.

Also appearing during Folk All Around 2005 are Northumbrian Small-Pipes trio Rusty Gulley from Salisbury and their friends Sarum Morris who, together with local dancers King Stone Rapper, Charlbury Morris, Witney's Queen Emma's Morris and Ducklington Morris, will all be dancing around the town during the day.

Other performers include sextet Claydon and female duo Scold's Bridle. There are morning workshops in voice by local singer Bill Long and Patti Smith will conduct a workshop in spoon playing.

Saturday evening sees a Big Singaround in the Fox Hotel hosted by members of Sarum Morris dance side as an alternative to the Town Hall concert and the whole event kicks off with a free Ice-Breaker Singaround in the Fox Hotel on Friday evening.

Tickets can be obtained on the door at individual events or from The Bookshop, West Street, Chipping Norton and by calling 01608 642296.
