DROITWICH Concert Club starts its 33rd season with a performance by one of Britain's most innovative and entertaining music ensembles on October 15.
Unique quarter Passacaglia will be performing works of music from Italy and Spain, called La Bergamasca, in Droitwich Methodist Church (7.30pm start).
For more than a decade Passacaglia has offered a refreshingly different approach to baroque music.
Blending the sweet, articulate sound of recorders and baroque flute with the ravishing sonorities of viola da gamba and harpsichord the ensemble provides new insights into familiar music and rediscovering a wealth of beautiful but neglected master works.
In November the Royal Quartet of Warsaw, named as one of BBC Radio Three's new generation will perform.
The quartet will be performing works by Haydn, Shostakovich and Bartok.
In 2006 the award winning Stamin Quartet bring their world tour to Droitwich.
The visit is part of their 20th anniversary of their first British tour.
Welsh pianist Llyr Williams will perform works by Szymanowski and Schumann in February.
Finally, The Kungsbacka piano group will perform Mozart. Tickets for the shows can be obtained by calling Mrs S Marsh on 01905 775246.
