CANAL boat enthusiasts are set to chug along to one of the most atmospheric inland waterway events of the year - the Historic Working Boat Gathering.
The Boaters' Gathering, which takes place at the Black Country Living Museum this Saturday and Sunday, September 24/25, will feature a kaleidoscope of colourfully decorated working boats.
The Museum's dockyard plays host to the event, which is set against the unique and picturesque back-drop of the period canal-side village.
The display is open to the public enabling landlubbers and water babies alike to discover life afloat a traditional narrow boat and watch historic working boats in action.
Enthusiasts and visitors can navigate their way along the emerald green waterway of the narrow 3,000 yard long Dudley Tunnel where trips to the the limestone caverns include Little Tess and the famous Singing Cavern.
The Black Country Living Museum invites boat owners to take part in the Historic Working Boat Gathering.
The event promises to be an unforgettable occasion and will rekindle the atmosphere and culture of a unique but often forgotten way of life.
