NEW York's Lord Bishop Rocks will be bringing their loud and proud sound all the way to Worcester's Marr's Bar in what promises to be a wild show.
Lord Bishop, the front man of the trio, is a larger then life character who whips the crowd into such a frenzy that items of clothes can sometimes be shed.
The band, who came into fruition four years ago, are currently embarking on a major tour of this country.
"We stage a high, energetic rock 'n' roll show, there's lots of interaction with the audience and its' partly explosive," says Lord Bishop.
"Me and the bass player are African American. We're flamboyant, and when you see us live you see this loud, rock thing.
"It's garage, raw punk, sex rock - a foundation between hard rock, punk rock and funk.
"People can leave the show naked. We ask them to take their clothes off and most of them do, but some don't strip down completely.
''We do however, have to be careful when we play in front of younger crowds."
Lord Bishop says has been playing music since he was 15, but didn't take it seriously until he was in his 20s, after spending a lot of time promoting groups.
"I believe that the most important thing is bringing the music to the public," he says.
"It's great to know that people buy our T-shirts and hang our posters up in the bedrooms and the living rooms."
In 1991 Lord Bishop formed the metal, punk and funk band Total Sexual Freedom and had a hardcore following all over the USA.
Lord Bishop Rocks were formed in November 1999.
Catch the band at Worcester's Marr's Bar on Thursday, August 12.
