HEREFORD duo, BiZali will battle three other bands in Nottingham on live television tonight.

The pair won over judges when they appeared in the semi-finals of ITV1 Central's new series, Music (Uncovered) last Friday, reaching the show's grand final.

Throughout the series, filmed at The Sanctuary, in Digbeth, Birmingham, the bands performed their own material in front of a live audience and panel of judges including ex-Take That star and solo performer, Mark Owen.

They now stand a chance to win a development contract with Gut Records, one of the country's top independent record labels.

BiZali consists of 18-year-old guitarist and songwriter, Aaron Zahl and 17-year-old singer, Blythe Pepino. They have only been together for six months, and their first time on Music (Uncovered) was their sixth gig.

Frantik from Hereford, and Volta from Worcester, also appeared on the show, but BiZali are the only band from the two counties to get through to the final.

"I'm completely surprised that we got so far because the first time we appeared on the show, the judges seemed a bit pessimistic and didn't comment about the singing," says Aaron.

"I felt downhearted about it all.

"The second time we appeared on the show we played Lucky and they were positive."

Aaron says Lucky was written when his luck was down, and Last Man Standing, which was performed when the band first appeared on the show, was written about the Hutton Enquiry.

"In the grand final we have to play Lucky again," he said. "I'm not nervous about it being live."

Music (Uncovered) was screened for the first time at the beginning of April. It is due to air at 11.30pm.
