MUSIC fans will be "squeezing" themselves into Worcester's Marr's Bar on Sunday as highly accomplished guitarist Nick Harper comes to the city for a gig.

The former Squeeze member's distinctive and soulful voice - as well as his guitar playing - has earnt him a following over the years.

His debut recording was first heard in 1983 when he appeared on his father Roy Harper's Whatever Happened To Jugula? album - a collaboration with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame.

His first solo release - Light At The End of The Kennel - came out in 1994 and the next stage of his career began when he supported Squeeze front man and songwriter Glenn Tilbrook.

Tilbrook was so impressed, he offered Nick a job playing with the band and promptly signed him to his own label, Quixotic Records.

His third album, Harperspace, was released to great critical acclaim and confirmed his position at the forefront of a new generation of British Acoustic Performers.

Tickets for the gig are £8 in advance and £10 on the door.
