THE Britten Singers celebrate their 30th anniversary this month.
Since their foundation in 1975 the group have built up a wide repertoire, raising thousands of pounds for charities in nearly 200 concerts.
To commemorate the anniversary, director Pamela White has commissioned a piece from David Briggs - former organist of Gloucester Cathedral - which will be performed in concert on April 16 in the Bishop's Palace, Hereford.
The piece is a setting of a poem by Walter de la Mare called, appropriately, music.
Information about the society's charitable work is available from Pamela on 01432 356757.
She will also be pleased to hear from keen singers - particularly sopranos and altos - who would be interested in joining the small choir.
