THIS month's art at Hereford Courtyard includes the oils of artist-in-residence at Herefordshire College of Art and Design, Alan Harrold.
A regular exhibitor at h.Art, Alan focuses on figures or an absent figure in his paintings, encouraging the viewer to think of a loss of something or someone through the sparseness of composition.
Also on show at the Courtyard this month are Steve Vicary's colourful portraits, entitled Colouration.
His paintings are based on the colour and movement created when land meets sky, inspired by patterns, textures, shapes and images found in the environment, reflecting the strength and power found in the natural elements.
Steve's paintings originate from personal experiences, incorporating place names of areas visited, musical references, poetry or pieces of edited words and phrases as titles of pieces of work.
The Lower Canyon will be filled with the challenging, potent work of Susie Tooby.
These three exhibitions open on January 20 and will remain on view until February 26. Admission is free and work is for sale.
