A TOP county agricultural show has a new executive director.

Nick Vincent has been appointed to take on the role at the Three Counties Agricultural Society in Malvern.

The 55-year-old will lead a team of 30 with a pledge to develop the society and work more closely with local residents and the education community.

Mr Vincent, who lives in Cheltenham, has worked for the past seven years as a business consultant working with a variety of businesses.

He was until 1998 managing director of SAPA Building Systems having previously spent 10 years as the group's finance director.

The earlier part of his career was spent working in Central Africa and Europe.

Nick has declared improving facilities at the Three Counties Showground as a key priority.

"Improving the infrastructure is fundamental to improving our image in order to make the show ground a place where people really want to come," said Mr Vincent.

"We can only do this over time and if we do it professionally. I will be working more closely with the local business community and residents to achieve our aims."

Mr Vincent is married with two children and enjoys squash, golf and skiing.
