Re: Scout Christmas Post. I am writing to ask if you will kindly publish in your paper a thank you to all the people of Stratford who have supported our Christmas Post service.
I would like to thank all those people who actually posted their Christmas cards with us (including the Mayor of Stratford), and the many keepers and offices who allowed us to place our post boxes on their premises. Also a big thank you to all those leaders, helpers, parents and children involved with 1st Shottery Scout Group who gave up their valuable time in the lead-up to Christmas to empty and collect post boxes, sort the many cards and finally deliver them.
This year we will, by Christmas Eve, have delivered over 3,500 cards which has resulted in income to the group of just over £600. As you can imagine this is an enormous boost to our funds which will enable us to continue with our wide range of activities for the 80 plus boys enrolled in our group.
STEVE RAWLINS, Group Scout Leader, 1st Shottery Scout Group.
