I WENT on a magical journey to Narnia on Saturday, and enjoyed every minute of it.
CS Lewis's famous story was brought to life by the Nonentities, and kept all the children in the audience (and the adults) rapt throughout.
Four youngsters took the lead roles admirably - Chris Lewis as Peter, Sarah Lewis as Susan, Josh Leonard as Edmund and Alexandra Hyde as Lucy, and the adults in the production showed great respect for their (mainly) young audience, giving their performances their very best.
Jenny Eglinton was a wonderful witch, suitably nasty, and with brilliant facial expressions.
Brian and Sheila Potter played a cuddly pair of kindly beavers.
Paul Merrell was also tremendous as the lion, Aslan, and the echo when he spoke was extremely effective.
I took along my young grandson to get a child's viewpoint, and he thoroughly enjoyed it - asking if we could stay for the next performance!
Afterwards, I asked Daniel what were his favourite moments, and it appears he particularly enjoyed watching the two leopards beating the Dwarf up!
Well done, Nonentities - any production which can keep so many children entertained for so long has to be good.
