LOVERS of a good tune can't do much better than listening in on Georgie Fame and Keith Smith, who are pooling their considerable talents.
Fame, the man who penned The Ballard of Bonnie and Clyde, Yeah Yeah and Getaway, has teamed up with the American trumpeter known as Mr Hefty Jazz for From Basin Street to Broadway.
It takes listeners from Louis Armstrong through the music of Fats Waller to the songs of Billie Holliday and Ella Fitzgerald and the tunes of Cole Porter and George Gershwin.
The pair are due to appear at the Borough Theatre, Abergavenny, on Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £14 (concs £12) and available from the theatre's box office on 01873 735837.
