FIREWORKS are expected at Worcester's Swan Theatre this week when their Amateur Company presents Alan Ayckbourn's comedy Joking Apart.
The play begins with a Bonfire Night display and also includes a tennis match on Boxing Day in the rain. It is set in a garden over a period of 12 years as the same characters gather for various celebrations.
Described as "bittersweet," the play concerns charming and successful couple Anthea and Richard and the influence they have on the lives of their friends and business partners.
Directed by Brian J Burton, the production stars Keith Thompson, Rachel Le Sauvage, James Jackson, Michelle Whitfield, Sue Imms, Frank Welbourne and Andrea Hingley.
Joking Apart runs from tomorrow until Saturday, February 19, (except Sunday, February 13) at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7-£9.50 on 01905 611427 or are available on the evening or the day of performance at the Swan Theatre.
