THE Christian Chorale will be performing Handel's oratorio Saul on April 23 at Holy Trinity Church, Whitecross, Hereford.
It is a lesser-known oratorio which originally would have been acted in costume, more like an opera.
Nowadays it is treated more like the Messiah.
The choir meets weekly on a Wednesday - and sometimes Thursday - at 7.30pm in St John's Church, St Owen Street, when working towards a performance, under the baton of Sir Richard Mynors.
The chorale was started with a membership of local church choir members but now welcomes anyone who enjoys singing.
Singers need to be able to follow a part and have a good ear and the choir is on the look out for more of them - especially tenors!
