ROCK and romance feature in two contrasting shows at the Palace Theatre.
On Friday, the nostalgia and romance of a festive Viennese evening is recreated with A Viennese Strauss Gala.
The show, which has toured the country to rave reviews, is a choreographed, costumed and magnificently sung series of highlights from some of the great operettas of Strauss, Kalman and Lehar, including Die Fleidermaus and The Merry Widow.
Accompanied by the European Orchestral Ensemble and led by Matthew Freeman, conductor and arranger with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will be world famous opera star Lara Martins, as well as soloists from major British opera companies. Tickets for the show are £14.50 (£13.50 reddicard).
Then on Saturday, Gavin Munn stars as Probably Robbie - The Ultimate Robbie Williams Tribute Show.
Described as "dynamic and high energy", the show includes hits Let Me Entertain You, Rock DJ, Old Before I Die, She's The One and Angels.
A spokesman said of Gavin: "He looks like Robbie, he sounds like Robbie, he was born in the same town and he even wears Robbie's tiger pants."
Tickets are priced £11 (£10 reddicard). Both shows begin at 7.30pm with tickets available from the Information Centre or by calling 65203. Ticket requests can also be emailed to:
