WORCESTERSHIRE band The Shakedown are preparing for the gig of their lives this month as they play an industry showcase event in Birmingham.
The band will be performing at the Hard Rock Caf in the city on Wednesday, February 23, where representatives from Epic Records, Columbia Records and Atlantic Records will be present.
"It's an unbelievable opportunity for us and we're all very excited, it's an opportunity that doesn't come along everyday so we're very lucky," said guitarist and vocalist Neil Ivison.
"We're hoping we get as many fans as possible there to support us because obviously that's a major thing companies look at with a band, is how big their fanbase is."
The band came about after bassist and vocalist George Elliott answered a "musicians wanted'" flier placed in a Worcestershire music shop by Neil Ivison, a frustrated musician who'd spent his first years on the circuit in various covers bands with life-long friend, drummer Lee Harris.
The team of singer/songwriter Neil along with bass player George and drummer Lee, has remained at the heart of The Shakedown ever since, with Adam Barry also joining on keyboards and vocals.
The 4-piece band released their brand new EP The Roxpole Sessions last year and also worked with the BBC on videos for some of their songs, which gave them a chance to promote the EP.
And with the showcase just around the corner, the band will be be playing Worcester's Marrs Bar tonight.
