HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: The February meeting was attended by 60 members. There was an interesting Any Questions evening with the chairman, George Sloggett, in the chair and Martin Fox and Ray Fardon the panel. After more than an hour of having to think on their feet, the chairman called the question time to a halt and thanked the two panellists. The monthly competition was judged and Mrs Ruth Darbon took first prize with her vase of snowdrops. The meeting next month will be a talk by Mr Peter Sheasby on Mountain Flowers and the competition will be a photograph of my pet.
Another volunteer is needed to complete the team for the village quiz on March 4, please contact 01451 810388.
