MUSIC lovers turned out in droves to support a jazz club after its promoter warned it was facing the axe in last week's Shuttle/Times & News.
Alan Biggs said it was "brilliant" that 80 people attended Monday night's Aggborough Jazz concert by New Orleans artist Barry Martyn and the Young Bloods. "We had a great night," he said.
Just last week, Mr Biggs said the club's meetings in the Aggborough suite of Kidderminster Harriers' football ground had recently only attracted around 30 people and it would have to close unless the situation changed.
Bands lined up to perform in the coming weeks include John Everett's Red Dragon Jazzmen on Monday, March 7, Martin Bennett's Old Green River Band on Monday, March 14 and New Millennium Jazz Band the following week.
Old favourites, Richard Leach's 7 Stars of Jazz, will wrap up the season on April 18.
More information and tickets for any of the band's in the spring season's programme can be obtained by calling 07790 012767. Doors open at 7pm and food is available from 7.30pm.
