WORLD-renowned orchestra The Britten Sinfonia will be visiting Hereford's Courtyard this month to perform a range of English pastoral music - courtesy of Arts Council-funded organisation Orchestras Live.
The programme for the evening will include pieces by Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten as well as Michael Tippett's Concerto for Double String Orchestra in celebration of the centenary of his birth.
Conducting the orchestra for this event will be Nicholas Daniel, who is its associate artistic director, as well as president of the Hereford Concert Society.
Beginning his career by winning the BBC's Young Musician of the Year in 1980, Nicholas is now one of the UK's most distinguished artists.
Performing alongside him will be horn player Stephen Bell, who has recently been appointed artistic director of the Elgar Chamber Orchestra, and tenor John Mark Ainsley.
This is the third Orchestras Live event to take place at the Courtyard - all of which have proved extremely popular.
The Britten Sinfonia is performing in Hereford on Saturday, April 16 at 7.30pm.
Tickets start from £8, with concessions available to under 18s. For more information or to book tickets call the Courtyard box office on 0870 1122330.
