AN award-winning quartet will be treating residents in a Wyre Forest village to a performance of classic jazz and show songs.

The Sheena Davis Group, featuring singer Sheena Davis accompanied by piano, double bass and drums, will be performing at Far Forest Village Hall.

The band performs classic songs spanning four decades including tracks by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Carole King, Ray Charles and Madness.

Since winning the British Gas/Daily Express Tomorrow's People Award, Sheena has become established as one of the country's top swing and jazz vocalists.

The concert is part of a tour organised for Shindig, which is a programme of live professional arts and entertainment for community venues throughout the county and is subsidised by a number of local councils and Arts Council England.

A group of volunteers, who run the hall, had been campaigning for the chance to host a Shindig event.

The event, which is already proving popular with people of all ages, takes place on Friday, April 15 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from 01299 266269.
