THE Bristol Bach Choir, one of the UK's leading amateur mixed choirs, will present a concert to honour the 500th anniversary of the birth of Thomas Tallis, one of the greatest English composers, this Saturday at St Laurence's Parish Church, Ludlow.
The concert is titled Cantiones Sacrae as a tribute to Tallis and his colleague William Byrd, who together published a collection of motets under that name in 1575. The choir will be singing works not only by Tallis and Byrd but also their contemporaries, Peter Philips and Elway Bevin.
Tickets for the concert are on sale from Music Box (01275 349010) or on the door at 7.30pm.
