THE ensemble Chroma will be in concert at Charlton Church on Saturday, back in the venue where they started the series of chamber music concerts back in 1998, then as a clarinet trio.
Chroma have become most closely associated with the performance of contemporary music and have forged close links with many prominent British composers through an extensive series of premieres and collaborations.
The concert will feature one of Mozart's finest chamber works, the exquisite Clarinet Quintet in A, alongside works by composer Gabriel Jackson who said he had found perfect exponents for his work in Chroma.
"Chroma are such a pleasure to work with, easy-going, friendly and fiercely committed," he said. "I'm very excited by virtuosity and they have it in spades. It's a great feeling for a composer to know that whatever you write for them will sound fantastic."
Jackson will be at Charlton for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 from Hampton Farm Shop, Pershore Road, Evesham; Blue, Broad Street, Pershore, or by telephone on 01386 861139.
