AN internationally- known potter's final creation has been fired in Bransford.
The pot, measuring more than five feet high, was made by ceramacist Monica Young, of Reeth in Yorkshire, who died last year.
Her friend Will Tooby, chairman of Bransford Garden Plants, agreed to fire it in his kiln after her workshop was damaged in storms. Pottery and sculpture is his hobby and, inspired by Ms Young, he built a kiln to make very large pots.
"I'm really pleased to be able to fire it for Monica because she was a real inspiration to me," he said.
Ms Young was best known for award-winning large garden sculptures. The pot fired in Brans-ford was returned to her Reeth studio on Monday for a retrospective exhibition of her work.
