TWO pots of cash has led to a revival of interest in the great outdoors for Herefordshire youngsters.
The money, from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Eveson Charitable Trust meant that Herefordshire Outdoor Trust could begin a regeneration programme based around Dinedor Outdoor Centre.
The funds enabled the increase in provision of facilities, including a toilet and shower block and improved disabled access.
Input is being encouraged from schools and community groups, and a series of open days is being held in forthcoming weeks.
The trust is also hoping that local artists and craftspeople will take a stand to display their goods and share the enjoyment of their craft.
Are you a bird lover who could take a group around Dinedor woods to pass on your knowledge of birds in the vicinity?
Do you know the history of the Iron Age Hill Fort on which Dinedor camp in situated, and if so would you like to pass this knowledge on?
The centre is on the look-out for volunteers to become involved in future plans and is holding open evenings for schools on April 25 and 27 from 5-7pm and for uniformed groups on May 31 and June 1-2 from 11am-4pm.
For details about volunteering or about the facilities on offer call 01432 870327.
